And the Home of
Adult Sailing
Miami Yacht Club hosts
several classes a year for
adults who want to learn the basics of sailing. Classes are presently taught
using the club's five 16-foot Precision sailboats, but there are plans underway
to replace these boats sometime this upcoming autumn.
Classes are taught with 1-2 students and one instructor per boat. Beginning and Intermediate classes are offered. Instructors are Miami Yacht Club members.

Our adult sailing program is second to none. We host several classes a year in a four
weekend format catering to beginning and intermediate adult sailors.
Private lessons are also available.
With the class, students get an American Red Cross/US Sailing book entitled "Start Sailing Right." Also
included with the tuition is six weeks temporary membership at the Miami Yacht Club.
If after graduating, a student wishes to join the Miami Yacht Club, the class tuition up
to $180.00 is deducted from the initiation fee. The student has up to one year
to take advantage of the reduced initiation.
